13 Isaiah 26
1In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah, City whose salvation has prevailed, build the walls and the bulwarks;
2open the gates, that the righteous peoples who keep faith and that the truth may enter in.
3You will keep us in perfect peace, for in you we have trusted, Yahvah, forever and ever.
4For Yahvah God is an everlasting strength;
5he brings down those who live on high; the lofty city, he will lay it low, even to the ground; he brings it even to the dust.
6The foot will tread it down, even the feet of the poor and the steps of the needy.
7The way of the humble is straight; the path of the righteous is straight and level.
8Yes, in the way of your judgments, Yahvah, we have waited for you; the desire of our soul is for your name, and remembrance of you.
9My soul has desired you in the night; yes, with my spirit inside me I will seek you early; for when your judgments are in the land, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
10The wicked has gone far off that he may not learn righteousness; chastisement in the land brings correction; the wicked will not look at the majesty of Yahvah.
11Yahvah, when your hand is lifted up, they will not see; but they will see and be ashamed for the zeal of the people; yes, let the fire of the oven devour your enemies.
12Yahvah, you will give us peace; for you have also worked all our works for us.
13Yahvah our god, other masters besides you have lorded over us; but your name alone we will mention;
14for they do not raise the dead, they do not raise the mighty men; therefore you have visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.
15You have increased the nation, Yahvah, you have increased the nation; you have removed it far away and scattered it to all the ends of the land.
16Yahvah, in distress they have sought you, and in siege they muttered the incantation invoking your discipline.
17Like a pregnant woman, who draws near the time of delivery, and is in pain, and cries out in her pangs; so have we been in your sight, Yahvah.
18We have been pregnant, we have been in pain like those who brought forth wind; save us lest we perish in the land, lest the inhabitants of the world come to an end.
19Your dead men will live, their dead bodies will arise. Those who live in the dust will awake and sing, for your dew is a dew of light, and the land of the giants you will overthrow.
20Come, my people, enter into your chambers and shut your doors behind you; hide yourselves as it were for a little time, until my indignation has passed away.
21For look, Yahvah is coming out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the land for their iniquity; and the land will also disclose her blood, and will not cover her slain any longer.
26 Psalms 5:4-6
4For you are not a god that has pleasure in wickedness; nor will evil live with you.
5The proud will not stand in your sight; you hate all workers of iniquity.
6You will destroy those who speak falsehood; Yahvah will reject the bloody and deceitful man.
26 Psalms 18:31-42
31For there is no god except Yahvah; and there is no one who is mighty like our god.
32It is god that girds me with strength and makes my way perfect.
33He makes my feet like deer's feet and sets me on high places.
34He trains my hands to war; and he strengthens my arms like a bow of brass.
35You have also given me the shield of your salvation; and your right hand has held me up; and your discipline has made me great.
36You have steadied my legs under me, that my ankles may not be weakened.
37I will pursue my enemies and overtake them; and I will not turn again until they are consumed.
38I will strike them so that they will not be able to stand; they will fall under my feet.
39For you have girded me with strength to the battle; you have subdued under me those who rose up against me.
40You have also defeated my enemies before me, that I might silence those who hate me.
41They will cry, but there will not be anyone to save them; they will beg Yahvah, but he will not answer them.
42Then I will beat them small as the dust before the wind; I will tread over them as the mire of the streets.
