Jonah Preaches
Jonah finally goes to Nineveh and preaches
against it. The people listen and repent and Yahvah relents
from the calamity he had planned.
Jonah 3
1The word of the Master came to Jonah a 2nd time, saying,
2Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call to it the calling which I tell you.
Jonah 3:1-23Jonah arose and went to Nineveh according to the word of the Master. Nineveh was a great city to God, of 3 days journey.

Jonah 3:7.2-77.3Let neither children of men nor animals, herd nor flock, taste anything. Do not let them feed, nor drink water,
8but let children of men and animals be covered with sackcloth and call to God with groaning. Yes, let every man turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands.
9Who knows if God will turn and repent and turn from us his fierce anger that we may not perish? I Isaiah 17:7-8

Luke
A simple word search for "Jonah" in the book of Luke lands
on this passage where Jesus talks about how the people of Nineveh
repented at the preaching of Jonah.
29When the crowds were gathering he began to say, This evil generation wants a sign and no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah the prophet.
30For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites so the Son of Man will also be to this generation.
Luke 11:29-3031The queen of the south will rise up in judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them for she came from the far ends of the land to hear the wisdom of Solomon and one greater than Solomon is here. H 1 Kings 10:1
Luke 11:3132The men of Nineveh will rise up in judgment against this generation and condemn it for they repented at the preaching of Jonah and one greater than Jonah is here. H Jonah 3:5 Luke 11:32 (Luke 11:29-32 BRB)
Obviously this is a match to the source story where Jonah
preaches and the people of Nineveh stopped their evil ways.
