Isaiah Ezra

Isaiah chapter 16 and the book of Ezra.

1.1I will send 1.2to the son of the ruler of the land 1.3from the rock of the wilderness 1.4to the mountain of the daughter of Zion. I Obadiah 1:1 2.1He will be like a bird 2.2that leaves his nest 2.3and the daughters of Moab 2.4will be deserted at the passing of Arnon. Isaiah 16:1-23.1Take counsel 3.2and execute judgment 3.3and make your shadow as the night 3.4in the middle of the noonday. 3.5Hide the outcasts 3.6and he who wanders do not betray. 4.1Let the outcasts of Moab live with you 4.2and be a shelter to them from before the spoiler, Isaiah 16:3-44.3for the destroyer is at an end 4.4and the spoiler ceases 4.5and the oppressors are consumed out of the land. 5.1In mercy a throne will be established 5.2and he will sit on it in truth 5.3in the tent of David, 5.4a judge who seeks judgment 5.5and hurries righteousness. Isaiah 16:4.3-56.1We have heard of the pride of Moab. 6.2He is very proud 6.3even of his pride and elevation and wrath. I Obadiah 1:3 6.4Did his augurers not so predict concerning him? 7.1Therefore Moab will howl 7.2and everyone will howl for Moab, 7.3for the foundations of the walls that are destroyed. 7.4They will groan like the sick, 8.1for the fields of Heshbon languish. 8.2The vine of Sibmah 8.3the mighty men of the peoples 8.4have cut down its branches. 8.5They are come as far as Jazer. 8.6They wandered through the wilderness. 8.7Its shoots spread out 8.8and are gone over the sea. 9.1Therefore I will cause you to weep with the weeping of Jazer 9.2for the vine of Sibmah. 9.3I will water you with your tears 9.4Heshbon and Elealeh, 9.5for an oppressor has come against your harvest 9.6and the gathering of your grapes. I Obadiah 1:5 10.1Gladness and joy are taken away out of the plentiful field 10.2and in the vineyards there will not be rejoicing 10.3nor will there be shouting 10.4nor will they tread out wine in the winepress 10.5nor will men tread out wine with their feet, 10.6for I have made the vine treaders cease. 11.1Therefore, my heart will lament like a harp for Moab 11.2and my soul for the fortified walls which will be destroyed. 12.1It will come to pass when it is seen 12.2that Moab is weary on the high places 12.3that he will come to the holy place to pray, 12.4but he will not prevail. I Obadiah 1:17 Isaiah 16:6-1213This is the word that the Master has spoken concerning Moab since that time. 14But now the Master has spoken saying, Within 3 years as the years of an employee the glory of Moab will be despised with all that great multitude of his people and the remnant will be very small and feeble. I Obadiah 1:18 Isaiah 16:13-14

Send Lambs

2.1Cyrus, king of Persia, says: Ezra 1:22.2All the kingdoms of the land the Master, the God of the skies, has given me. He has commanded me to build him a house in Jerusalem, the city which is in Judah. 3Who is there among you of all his people, his God be with him, let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the Master, the God of Israel. He is the God which is in Jerusalem. 4All who remain from any place where he temporarily resides, let the men of his place help him 1|5 with silver, 2|5 and with gold, 3|5 and with livestock, 4|5 and with animals, 5|5 together with the freewill offering for the house of God which is in Jerusalem. Ezra 1:2.2-4
(Ezra 1:2-4 BRB)

Outcasts

61.1Of the children of the priests: 61.2children of Habaiah, 61.3children of Hakkoz, 61.4children of Barzillai, who took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite and was called after their name. Ezra 2:6162These sought their register among those who were reckoned by genealogy but they were not found therefore they were removed from the priesthood. 63The heads of Israel said to them that they should not eat of the most holy things until should rise up the high priest who would make an inquiry and see about the matter. Help

1The adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity were building the temple to the Master, the God of Israel. 2They came to Zerubbabel and to the chiefs of the fathers and said to them, Let us also build with you for we seek your God as you do and we have been sacrificing to him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assyria who brought us up here. Ezra 4:1-2

Throne

24Then ceased the work of the house of God which is in Jerusalem and it ceased until the 2nd year of the reign of Darius king of Persia. Ezra 4:24

Heard About Moab

1When these things were completed the elders came to me saying, The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands doing according to their abominations even of the Canaanites and the Hethites and the Perizzites and the Jebusites and the Ammonites and the Moabites and the Mizraim and the Amorites. Foundations

8Now, for a little while, favor has been shown from the Master our God to leave us a remnant, and to give us a place in his holy land, that our God may lighten our eyes and grant us a little reviving in our bondage. 9For we are bondmen, yet our God has not forsaken us in our bondage, but our God has granted mercy in the eyes of the kings of Persia, and has cared for us today to set up the house of our God and to repair its ruins and to give us a secure place in Judah and in Jerusalem. Eat From the Land

12Now do not give your daughters to their sons, nor take their daughters to your sons, nor seek their peace or their prosperity forever that you may be strong and eat the good of the land and leave it for an inheritance to your sons forever.
(Ezra 9:12 BRB)

Prayer at Sanctuary

1When Ezra had prayed and when he had confessed prostrating himself and weeping before the house of the Master, there assembled to him out of Israel a very great assembly of men and women and sons, for the sons wept bitterly. Ezra 10:1-4
(Ezra 10:1 BRB)

Word of Yahvah

2Shechaniah son of Nehael, 1 of the children of Elam, answered and said to Ezra the scribe, We have transgressed against our God, and have taken foreign wives of the people of the land; now is there any hope for Israel concerning this thing? 3Therefore let us make a contract with our God to put away all the alien wives and those who are born of them according to the counsel of our master and of those who are afraid from the law of our God and his commandment. Do it now and be strong.
(Ezra 10:2-3 BRB)

3 Years/Days

7They made a proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem to all the children of the captivity that they should gather themselves together to the city of Jerusalem, 8and that whoever would not come within 3 days it should be done to him according to the counsel of the elders and the chiefs; all his wealth could be forfeited and he himself separated from the people of Israel.
