Isaiah Joel

Isaiah chapter 32 and the book of Joel.

FE 1A king will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule in justice. 2A man will be as a hiding place from the wind and as a shelter from the tempest; as streams of waters in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. Isaiah 32:1-23The eyes of those who see will not be dim, and the ears of those who hear will listen. 4The heart of the imprudent will understand knowledge, and the tongue of stammerers will hurry to speak plainly. 5The fool will not be called, Ruler, any longer, nor will the vain man be called, A savior. Isaiah 32:3-56For the fool will speak folly, and his heart will work iniquity, to practice hypocrisy and to utter error, to make empty the soul of the hungry and to deprive the thirsty of drink. 7The instruments of the vain person are evil; he devises wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the testimony of the needy is right. 8But a great person devises great things, and on his greatness he will stand. Isaiah 32:6-89Rise up, rich women; hear my voice, daughters that publish good news, give ear to my speech. 10The days of the year will be angry against those who publish good news, for the vintage will fail, the gathering will not come. 11Quake, rich women; be troubled, who publish good news; strip, and make yourselves bare and gird sackcloth on your loins. 12Mourn and beat on your breasts, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine. 13On the land of my people thorns will grow up and briers; yes, on all the houses of mirth in the mighty city; 14because the house is forsaken; the multitude of the city is deserted; and the beautiful houses have become caves forever, thorns, and a joy of wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks; 15until the spirit be poured on us from on high, and the wilderness become a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest. 16Justice will live in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field. 17The work of righteousness will be peace; and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever. 18My people will live in a peaceful habitation and in sure tents and in a resting place of hope. 19Hail will come down on the forest, and the city will be made low like a plain. 20Blessed are you who sow beside all waters, the place which is trampled under the feet of the ox and the donkey. Isaiah 32:9-20 (Isaiah 32 BRB)

Outpouring

28It will come to pass afterward that I will pour out my spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your elders will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. 29On the servants and on the maids in those days I will also pour out my spirit. Joel 2:28-32 (Joel 2:28-29 BRB)
