Isaiah 1 Thessalonians

Isaiah chapter 46 and the epistle of 1 Thessalonians.

1.1Bel has fallen down, Nebo is overthrown; 1.2their idols were loaded as burdens on animals, 1.3yes, on weary animals and cattle. 2.1They were overthrown, they have fallen down together; 2.2they could not rescue those who carried them, 2.3but they themselves are gone into captivity. Isaiah 46:1-23.1Listen to me, house of Jacob, 3.2and all the remnant of the house of Israel, 3.3even those who are borne in the belly 3.4and who are still carried in the womb, 4.1even to your old age I am he; 4.2and even to gray hairs I will endure. 4.3I have made and I will sustain; 4.4even I will carry and will deliver. Isaiah 46:3-45.1To whom will you liken me and make me equal 5.2and compare me, that we may be alike? 6.1To those who go astray, who pour out gold from their bags 6.2and weigh silver in the balance 6.3and hire a goldsmith; and they make it a God; 6.4they fall down, they bow to it? 7.1They bear it on their shoulders, they carry it 7.2and set it in its place, and it cannot rise up from its place; 7.3they also cry to it, but it does not answer them 7.4nor save them from their troubles. Isaiah 46:5-78.1Remember these things and discern; 8.2bring it again to your mind, transgressors. 9.1Remember the former things of old; 9.2for I am God and there is no other, 9.3God, and there is no one like me, 10.1declaring the end from the beginning 10.2and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, 10.3My counsel will stand, 10.4and I will do all my pleasure, 11.1calling a ruler swift as a bird from the east, 11.2the man who executes my counsel from a far land; 11.3yes, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; 11.4I have purposed it, I will also do it. 12.1Listen to me, stubborn of heart, 12.2that are far from righteousness; 13.1my righteousness is near; 13.2it will not be far off, 13.3my salvation will not tarry; 13.4and I will give salvation in Zion 13.5and for Israel my glory. Idol

9for these people themselves relate how we entered 1st among you, and how you turned to God from the worship of idols, to serve the Living and true God,
(1 Thessalonians 1:9 BRB)

Deliver

10to wait for his son from the skies, even Joshua, whom he raised from the dead, for it is he who will deliver us from the wrath to come.
(1 Thessalonians 1:10 BRB)

Bear

6We have not sought glory from the children of men, not from you nor from others, when we could have been honored as apostles of the Messiah. 7We were meek when we were among you, and like a foster mother who loves her sons. 8Likewise, we affectionately desire to give you not only the thinking of God, but even our lives, because you were dear to us, 9for you remember, brothers, that we labored hard, working night and day with our hands, so that we would not burden you.
(1 Thessalonians 2:6-9 BRB)

Pass

1Because we did not resist, we decided to remain at Athens alone 2and send Timothy, our brother, a minister of God and our helper in the thinking of the Messiah, to sustain you and comfort you concerning your belief, 3so that no man among you might be disheartened by these tribulations, for you yourselves know that this is our destiny, 4for assuredly, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulations, even as it has come to pass, and as you know, 1 Thessalonians 3:1-5
