Isaiah Zephaniah
Isaiah chapter 24 and the book of Zephaniah.
1.1The Master will destroy the land
1.2and lay it waste
1.3and turn it upside down
1.4and scatter its inhabitants.
2.1It will be,
2.2as with the people, so with the priest;
2.3as with the servant, so with his master;
2.4as with the maid, so with her mistress;
2.5as with the buyer, so with the seller;
2.6as with the lender, so with the borrower;
2.7as with the creditor, so with the debtor.
3.1The land will be utterly destroyed
3.2and utterly spoiled
3.3for the Master has spoken this word,
Isaiah 24:1-34.1The land howls and sits in mourning,
4.2the world wails and sits in mourning,
4.3the haughty people of the land lament.
5.1The land is also defiled like its inhabitants,
5.2because they have transgressed the law,
5.3changed the commandment,
5.4and destroyed the eternal contract. I Malachi 2:9
6.1Therefore the land will sit in mourning,
6.2and all its inhabitants will be condemned;
6.3therefore all the inhabitants of the land will be destroyed,
6.4and few men will be left.
7.1The grain mourns, the vine languishes,
7.2all the merry-hearted sigh.
8.1The mirth of the timbrels has ceased,
8.2the noise of those who rejoice has ended,
8.3the joy of the harp is over.
9.1They will not drink wine with a song;
9.2strong drink will be bitter to those who drink it.
10.1The city is plundered,
10.2every wine cellar is shut up, so that no one may come in.
11.1There is a crying for wine in the streets;
11.2all joy has ended,
11.3the mirth of the land is gone.
12.1The city is left in desolation,
12.2and its gates are broken with destruction.
13.1For thus it will be in the middle of the land
13.2among the peoples.
13.3It will be as the beating of an olive tree,
13.4and as the gleaning of grapes when the vintage is done.
Isaiah 24:4-1314.1They will lift up their voice,
14.2they will sing for the majesty of the Master,
14.3they will cry aloud from the sea.
15.1Therefore, glorify the Master with a song,
15.2even the name of the Master, the God of Israel,
15.3in the islands of the sea.
16.1From the uttermost parts of the land we have heard songs,
16.2even the glory of the righteous saying,
Isaiah 24:14-1616.3It is a mystery to me, it is a mystery to me,
16.4woe to me,
16.5the wicked have dealt treacherously,
16.6yes, the wicked have dealt very treacherously.
17.1Fear and the pit and the snare are on you,
17.2inhabitants of the land.
18.1It will come to pass that he who flees from the noise of the fear
18.2will fall into the pit
18.3and he who comes up out of the middle of the pit
18.4will be caught in the snare,
Isaiah 24:16.3-1818.5for the fountains from on high are open
18.6and the foundations of the land quake.
19.1The land is utterly broken down,
19.2the land is utterly moved,
19.3the land is staggering exceedingly.
20.1The land will reel to and fro like a drunkard
20.2and will be shaken like a booth,
20.3and its transgression will be heavy on it;
20.4and it will fall and not rise again.
Isaiah 24:18.5-2021.1It will come to pass in that day that the Master will punish
21.2the host of the lofty ones that are on high,
21.3and the kings of the land on the land.
22.1They will be gathered together
22.2as prisoners are gathered in the pit,
22.3and will be shut up in the prison,
22.4and after many days they will be saved.
23.1The moon will be confounded
23.2and the sun ashamed,
23.3for the Master of Hosts will reign
23.4on the mount of Zion and in Jerusalem,
23.5and will be glorified in the presence of his ancient ones. Isaiah 24:21-23 (Isaiah 24 BRB)
