Isaiah Zephaniah

Isaiah chapter 24 and the book of Zephaniah.

FE 1The Master will destroy the land and lay it waste and turn it upside down and scatter its inhabitants. 2It will be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the creditor, so with the debtor. 3The land will be utterly destroyed and utterly spoiled for the Master has spoken this word, Isaiah 24:1-34The land howls and sits in mourning, the world wails and sits in mourning, the haughty people of the land lament. 5The land is also defiled like its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the law, changed the commandment, and destroyed the eternal contract. I Malachi 2:9 6Therefore the land will sit in mourning, and all its inhabitants will be condemned; therefore all the inhabitants of the land will be destroyed, and few men will be left. 7The grain mourns, the vine languishes, all the merry-hearted sigh. 8The mirth of the timbrels has ceased, the noise of those who rejoice has ended, the joy of the harp is over. 9They will not drink wine with a song; strong drink will be bitter to those who drink it. 10The city is plundered, every wine cellar is shut up, so that no one may come in. 11There is a crying for wine in the streets; all joy has ended, the mirth of the land is gone. 12The city is left in desolation, and its gates are broken with destruction. 13For thus it will be in the middle of the land among the peoples. It will be as the beating of an olive tree, and as the gleaning of grapes when the vintage is done. Isaiah 24:4-1314They will lift up their voice, they will sing for the majesty of the Master, they will cry aloud from the sea. 15Therefore glorify the Master with a song, even the name of the Master, god of Israel, in the islands of the sea. 16From the uttermost parts of the land we have heard songs, even the glory of the righteous saying, Isaiah 24:14-16It is a mystery to me, it is a mystery to me, woe to me, the wicked have dealt treacherously, yes, the wicked have dealt very treacherously. 17Fear and the pit and the snare are on you, inhabitants of the land. 18It will come to pass that he who flees from the noise of the fear will fall into the pit and he who comes up out of the middle of the pit will be caught in the snare, Isaiah 24:16-18for the fountains from on high are open and the foundations of the land quake. 19The land is utterly broken down, the land is utterly moved, the land is staggering exceedingly. 20The land will reel to and fro like a drunkard and will be shaken like a booth, and its transgression will be heavy on it; and it will fall and not rise again. Isaiah 24:18-2021It will come to pass in that day that the Master will punish the host of the lofty ones that are on high, and the kings of the land on the land. 22They will be gathered together as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and will be shut up in the prison, and after many days they will be saved. 23The moon will be confounded and the sun ashamed, for the Master of hosts will reign on the mount of Zion and in Jerusalem, and will be glorified in the presence of his ancient ones.
