Isaiah Revelation
Isaiah 65:17-66:24 covers the New Jerusalem vision in
the book of Revelation.
17For I create new skies and a new land; and the former things will not be remembered nor come into mind.
18But my people will be glad and rejoice forever because I am creating; for I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and I will rejoice in it.
19I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people; and the voice of weeping will not be heard in her any longer, nor the voice of wailing any longer.
Isaiah 65:17-1920In her there will not be a child who dies in infancy any longer, nor an old man who has not filled his days; for the child will die 100 years old; but a sinner being 100 years old will be accursed.
21They will build houses and inhabit them; and they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
22They will not build and others inhabit; they will not plant and others eat; for like the days of trees are the days of my people, and my chosen ones will eat the work of their hands.
23They will not labor in vain nor bring forth sons for a curse; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Master, both they and their offspring with them.
24It will come to pass that before they call I will answer them; and before they speak I will hear them.
25The wolf and the lamb will feed together and the lion will eat straw like the ox, and dust will be the serpents' food. They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, says the Master. Isaiah 65:20-25
1Thus says the Master: The skies are my throne and the land my footstool. What is the house that you build for me and what is the place of my rest?
2For all those things my own hand has made, Q Acts 7:49-50 and all those things belong to me, says the Master. Isaiah 66:1-2To who will I look and where will I live, but to him who is calm and humble and quakes at my word. A Jeremiah 7:5
FE 1|4 3He who slaughters an ox is like he who kills a man; 2|4 he who sacrifices a lamb is like he who kills a dog; 3|4 he who offers a meal offering is like he who offers swine's blood; 4|4 he who burns incense is like he who blesses an idol. Yes, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their idols.
4I will also allow them to be humiliated and will repay them according to their works; because when I called, no one answered; when I spoke, they did not listen; but they did evil in my sight, and chose the things in which I did not delight. S Isaiah 65:12
Isaiah 66:2-45Hear the word of the Master, those who quake at his word, Say to your brothers who hate you and who despise you because of my name, Let the Master be glorified, and rejoice in your joy, and they will be ashamed.
FE 6A voice of tumult comes from the city, a voice from the house, the voice of the Master who renders repayment to his enemies.
Isaiah 66:5-67Before she travailed, she gave birth; before her pain came, she delivered a male child.
8Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Will the land be made to bring forth in 1 day, or will a people be born in an hour? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
9Will I bring to birth and not cause to bring forth, says the Master? Perhaps it is not I who causes to bring forth and who shuts the womb, says the Master your god.
10Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad with her, all you who love her; rejoice in joy with her, all you who mourn over her,
11that you may suck and be satisfied with the comfort of her breasts; that you may milk out and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.
Isaiah 66:7-1112For, thus says the Master: I will extend peace to her like a river, like an overflowing torrent; and you will suck the glory of the peoples; and you will be carried on the litters and be dandled on the knees;
13as one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; and you will be comforted in Jerusalem.
Isaiah 66:12-1314You will see this and your heart will rejoice and your bones will flourish like tender grass; and the hand of the Master will be stretched out toward his servants, and he will destroy his enemies.
15For the Master will come with fire S 1 Kings 18:38 S 2 Kings 1:10 and with his chariot like a whirlwind, S 2 Kings 2:11 to pour out his anger with fury and his rebuke with flames of fire.
16For by fire the Master will judge, and by it he will test all flesh; and the killed of the Master will be many.
Isaiah 66:14-1617Those who holy themselves and purify themselves in the gardens following one after another in the middle, eating swine's flesh and creeping things and mice, will be consumed together, says the Master.
Isaiah 66:1718For I know their works and their thoughts, when I come to gather all peoples and tongues, and they will come and see my glory.
19I will set a sign among them, and I will send the saved from them to the peoples, 1|6 to Tarshish, 2|6 and to Pul, 3|6 and to Lud, who draw the bow, 4|6 and to Tubal, 5|6 and to Javan, 6|6 and to the distant islands that have not heard my fame, nor have seen my glory, and they will show my glory among the peoples.
FE 20On horses and in chariots and in litters they will bring all your brothers for an offering to the Master out of all peoples to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the Master, as the children of Israel bring a meal offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Master.
21I will also take some of them for priests and for Levites, says the Master.
Isaiah 66:18-2122For as the new skies and the new land which I will make will remain before me, says the Master, so your seed and your name will remain.
FE 23It will come to pass that from one new month to another and from one sabbath to another all flesh will come to bow before me, says the Master.
24They will go forth and look on the dead bodies of the men that have transgressed against me; for their coals will not die, nor will their fire be quenched; Q Mark 9:44 Q Mark 9:46 Q Mark 9:48 and they will be an abhorrence to all flesh. Isaiah 66:22-24 (Isaiah 65:17-66:24 BRB)
Isaiah says I create new skies and a new land.
This aligns with the reference to "new skies and land" in
Revelation
(Rev 21:1).
Isaiah says Yahvah creates Jerusalem a rejoicing.
This aligns with the New Jerusalem
(Rev 21:2).
Isaiah says the voice of weeping will not be heard in
her any longer, nor the voice of wailing any longer.
This
aligns with Yahvah wiping away tears
(Rev 21:4).
Isaiah says In her there will not be a child who dies
in infancy any longer, nor an old man who has not filled his
days; for the child will die 100 years old; but a sinner being
100 years old will be accursed.
This aligns with the end
of death reference
(Rev 21:4).
Isaiah says They will not build and others inhabit; they
will not plant and others eat; for like the days of trees are
the days of my people, and my chosen ones will eat the work of
their hands.
This aligns with the reference to inheritance
(Rev 21:6-8).
Isaiah says The skies are my throne and the land my
footstool; what is the house that you build for me, and what
is the place of my rest?
This likely aligns with the idea
that the New Jerusalem does not have a temple
(Rev 21:9-27).
Isaiah says to who will I look, and where will I live,
but to him who is calm and humble, and trembles at my word.
This aligns with those whose names are written in the lamb's
book and are allowed to enter
(Rev 21:27).
Isaiah says it will come to pass that from one new month
to another and from one sabbath to another all flesh will come
to worship before me says Yahvah.
This aligns with the Tree
of Life bearing fruit each month
(Rev 22:1-5).
