Isaiah Malachi

Isaiah chapter 34 and the book of Malachi.

FE 1Come near, peoples, to hear; and listen, peoples; let the land hear, and all that is in it; the world, and all that live in it. 2For the indignation of the Master is against all the peoples, and his fury against all their armies, that he may destroy them and deliver them to the slaughter. 3Their killed will also be cast out, and the stink of their corpses will come up, and the mountains will be drenched with their blood. 4All the host of the skies will be dissolved, and the skies will be rolled together as a scroll; and all their host will fall down, as the leaf falls from off the vine and as a falling of premature figs from the fig tree. Isaiah 34:1-45For my sword will be sharpened in the skies; it will come down on the Adamites and on a people that are condemned in judgment. 6The sword of the Master is filled with blood, it is made fat with the blood, and with the fatness of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams; for the Master has a sacrifice in Bozrah and a great slaughter in the land of Adam. 7Wild-oxen will fall with them, and bulls with the bulls; and the land will be soaked with their blood, and the soil enriched with their fatness. Isaiah 34:5-78For it is the day of the vengeance of the Master and the year of repayment for the cause of Zion, 9and its streams will be turned into pitch and its soil into brimstone, and its land will become burning pitch. 10It will not be quenched night nor day; its smoke will go up forever; and it will lie waste from generation to generation; no one will pass through it forever and ever. 11But pelicans and owls will inherit it; ravens and ostriches will live in it; and he will stretch out on it the measuring line of the sword, and there will not be joy in it. 12They will not call it, A kingdom, there any longer, and all her princes will perish. 13Thorns will sprout up in her houses, nettles and thistles in its fortresses; and it will be a habitation of dragons and a pasture for ostriches. 14Insane men will meet in it, and demoniacs will cry out to each other; there the screech owl has perched and found for herself a place of rest. 15There the great owl will make her nest, and lay and hatch and gather under her shadow; there vultures will also be gathered, each with her mate. Isaiah 34:8-1516Seek out the scroll of the Master and read: not one of these will fail, none sought for her mate; but with his own mouth he has commanded, and his spirit has gathered them. 17He has cast the lot for them, and his hand has divided it to them by the measuring line; they will inherit it forever; from generation to generation they will live in it. 2I have loved you, says the Master. Malachi 1:2aYou say, In what way have you loved us? Malachi 1:2bWas Esau not a brother to Jacob, says the Master, yet I have loved Jacob. 3I have hated Esau Q Romans 9:13 and I have made his mountains waste and his heritage for camps of shepherds in the wilderness.
