1.1The righteous man has perished,
1.2and no one lays it to heart;
1.3and pious men are taken away;
1.4no one considers
1.5that the righteous man is taken away
1.6from the evil to come.
2.1Peace comes and they will relax
2.2and make progress.
Isaiah 57:1-23.1But you draw near to here, you children of the afflicted one,
3.2seed of the adulterer and the prostitute.
4.1Against whom do you sport yourselves?
4.2Against whom do you open your mouth wide
4.3and draw out the tongue?
4.4Are you not offspring of iniquity,
4.5seed of falsehood,
5.1comforting yourselves with idols
5.2under every green tree,
5.3slaying sons as sacrifices in the valleys
5.4under the cliffs of the rocks?
6.1Your portion and your heritage
6.2is in the parts of the valleys;
6.3even on them you have poured a drink offering,
6.4you have offered meal offerings.
6.5Should I receive comfort in these things?
7.1On high and lofty mountains you have set your bed;
7.2even there you went up to offer sacrifices.
8.1Behind the doors and on the posts
8.2you have also inscribed your remembrance;
8.3for you are carried away from me, and you are gone up,
8.4and you have enlarged your bed,
8.5and you have become one of them;
8.6you have loved their bed where you saw their nakedness.
9.1You praised the kings with frankincense,
9.2and increased your perfumes,
9.3and you sent your messengers far off,
9.4and you have brought yourself low,
9.5even down to the grave.
10.1You are wearied in the multitude of your corrupt ways;
10.2yet you did not say, I will cease;
10.3you have wasted away yourself with the guilt of your hands,
10.4therefore you did not make supplication.
Isaiah 57:3-1011.1Who have you been in dread of and feared,
11.2that you have lied against me
11.3and have not remembered me
11.4nor laid it to your heart?
11.5I am the holy one of old,
11.6and you did not fear me.
12.1I will declare my righteousness,
12.2and your works will not profit you.
13.1You cry and let those
13.2who gather around you deliver you,
13.3but the wind will carry them all away,
13.4and the whirlwind will take them;
13.5but those who put their trust in me
13.6will inherit the land
13.7and will inherit my holy mountain.
Isaiah 57:11-13 14.1And they will say:
14.2Clear up, clear up, prepare the way,
14.3take up the stumbling-blocks out of the path of my people.
15.1For the high and lofty one says,
15.2who inhabits eternity, whose name is holy,
15.3whose abode is high and holy,
15.4to the meek and the distressed in spirit,
15.5to revive the spirit of the humble,
15.6and to revive the heart of those who are in pain,
16.1I will not contend forever,
16.2nor will I always be angry;
16.3for the spirit proceeds from before me,
16.4and the breath, I have made it.
17.1Because of the iniquity of her treachery
17.2I was angry and struck her;
17.3but she backslid and was angry,
17.4and went away groaning in her heart.
18.1I have seen her ways, and I have healed her and have comforted her,
18.2and I have given comfort to her and to her mourners.
19.1I create the speech of the lips;
19.2peace, peace to those who are far away
19.3and to those who are near,
19.4says the Master,
19.5and I will heal them.
20.1But the wicked are like the troubled sea,
20.2for it cannot rest,
20.3its waters cast up creeping things and mire.
21There is no peace to the wicked, says my God. Isaiah 57:14-21 (Isaiah 57 BRB)
