Isaiah Nahum

Isaiah chapter 35 and the book of Nahum.

FE 1The parched wilderness will be glad, and the plain will rejoice and blossom like the crocus. 2It will rejoice like a mountain goat; the glory and honor of Lebanon will be given to it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the Master and the excellency of our god, an admonition and comfort for the weak, for a savior is coming to save them. Isaiah 35:1-23Strengthen the weak hands and make firm the feeble knees. 4Say to those who are of a fearful heart, Be strong, do not fear; your god the avenger is coming, even god the savior is coming to save you. Isaiah 35:3-45Then the eyes of the blind will be opened and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped. 6Then the lame man will jump as a deer and the tongue of the mute will be loosed; for waters are bursting forth in the wilderness, and streams in the plain. 7The desolate land will become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water; in the habitation of dragons grass will grow with reeds and rushes. Isaiah 35:5-78A highway will be there and it will be called, The holy way; the unclean will not pass it; and there will not be a way beside it; in it fools will not err. 9No lion will be there, nor will any ravenous animal go up on it; they will not be found there; but in it the redeemed will walk; 10and the ransomed of the Master will return and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy on their heads; they will obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. Isaiah 35:8-10 (Isaiah 35 BRB)

Carmel

4He rebukes the sea and makes it dry and dries up all the rivers. I Isaiah 19:5 Bashan and Carmel languish and the flower of Lebanon withers. I Isaiah 19:7 5The mountains quake before him and the hills break loose; the land quakes at his presence, yes, the world and all that live in it. 6Who can stand before his indignation? Who can endure the fierceness of his wrath? His fury burns like fire, and the mountains melt at his presence. (Nahum 1:4-6 BRB)

Strength

7The Master is good, a great help in the day of trouble; and he knows those who trust in him. Nahum 1:7-8 (Nahum 1:7 BRB)

Flood

8But with a rushing flood, he will make an utter end of the place of his adversaries, and darkness will pursue his enemies. (Nahum 1:8 BRB)

Highway

15Look on the mountains, the feet of him who brings good news, that publishes peace. Judah, keep your solemn feasts and perform your vows; the wicked will no longer transgress against you, for he is utterly destroyed. Nahum 1:15 (Nahum 1:15 BRB)

Lion

11Where is the lion's den and the feeding place of the young lions, where the lion went to enter there, and the lion's whelp, and there was no one to harm them? 12The lion tore in pieces enough to feed his whelps, and ripped apart for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey and his dens with pieces of flesh. Nahum 2:11-12 (Nahum 2:11-12 BRB)
