Isaiah Zechariah

Isaiah chapter 19 and the book of Zechariah.

FE 1The burden of Mizraim: The Master is riding on swift clouds and comes into Mizraim I Nahum 1:3 and the idols of Mizraim will be moved at his presence and the heart of the Mizraim will melt in the middle of it. Isaiah 19:12I will stir up Mizraim against Mizraim and they will fight each against his brother and each against his neighbor, city against city and kingdom against kingdom. 3The spirit of the Mizraim will fail in its middle and I will blot out their counsel and they will inquire from the idols and from the magi and from those who have familiar spirits and from the wizards. 4I will deliver the Mizraim into the hands of the cruel masters and a fierce king will rule over them, says the Master of hosts. Isaiah 19:2-45They will cut off the water from the sea and the river will be wasted and dried up. I Nahum 1:4 6They will divert the waters of the rivers and will diminish the great rivers. The reeds and rushes and papyrus will wither. 7The rushes by the river and by the mouth of the river and everything sown by the river will wither and be driven away and not be anymore. I Nahum 1:4 8The fishermen will also lament and all who cast hooks into the river will mourn and those who spread nets on the water will languish. 9Those who work in cotton and those who comb cotton and weave with joy will be confounded. 10All those who make strong drink for the drinking of the people will be humiliated. Isaiah 19:5-1011Surely the princes of Zoan have become fools. The wise counsellors of king pharaoh give foolish counsel. How can you say to pharaoh, We are wise men and the children of the ancient kings? I Nahum 1:11 Isaiah 19:1112Where are your wise men? Let them tell you now and let them know what the Master of hosts has purposed against Mizraim. 13The princes of Zoan have become fools. The princes of Noph have become haughty and have deceived Mizraim, even the foundation of her families. 14The Master has mingled a spirit of deceit inside her and it has caused the Mizraim to err in all his works as a drunk man staggers in his vomit. I Nahum 1:10 15There will not be a man of the Mizraim who can make head or tail of it, nor tail or head. Isaiah 19:12-1516In that day the Mizraim will be like a woman and he will be afraid and quake because of the size of the hand of the Master of hosts which he lifts against him. 17The land of Judah will be a terror to the Mizraim. Everyone who makes mention of it will be filled with dread because of the counsel of the Master of hosts which he has determined against the Mizraim. Isaiah 19:16-1718In that day there will be 5 cities in the land of Mizraim which speak the language of Canaan and swear by the Master of hosts. 1 of them will be called, Haris, the city of destruction. Isaiah 19:1819In that day there will be an altar to the Master in the middle of the land of Mizraim and a monument to the Master at its border. 20It will be for a sign and for a witness to the Master of hosts in the land of Mizraim, for they will cry to the Master because of the oppressors and he will send them a savior and a judge and he will deliver them. Isaiah 19:19-2021The Master will be known to the Mizraim and the Mizraim will know the Master in that day and will offer sacrifices and oblations. Yes, they will vow a vow to the Master and perform it. 22The Master will strike the Mizraim. He will strike and heal them and they will return to the Master and he will answer them and will heal them. Isaiah 19:21-2223In that day there will be a highway from Mizraim to Assyria and from Assyria to Mizraim and the Assyrians will come into Mizraim and the Mizraim into Assyria and the Mizraim will serve the Assyrians. Isaiah 19:2324In that day Israel will be the 3rd with Mizraim and with Assyria, even a blessing in the middle of the land, 25whom the Master of hosts will bless saying, Blessed be Mizraim my people and Assyria the work of my hands and Israel my heritage. Isaiah 19:24-25 (Isaiah 19 BRB)

Isaiah covers Zechariah from your king comes through the return from Assyria and Egypt.

9Rejoice greatly daughter of Zion. Shout daughter of Jerusalem. Your king comes to you. He is righteous and a savior, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. Q Matthew 21:5 Q John 12:15 10He will cut off the chariot from Ephraim and the horse from Jerusalem, and the bow will be broken in the battle. He will speak peace to the peoples and his dominion will be from sea even to sea and from the river even to the ends of the land. Zechariah 9:9-13 (Zechariah 9:9-10 BRB)

Isaiah says Yahvah will stir up Egyptian against Egyptian. This matches Yahvah setting Zion against Greece.

11As for you, by the blood of your contract you have also set free the captives out of the pit in which is no water. 12Live in the stronghold prisoners of hope; I will repay double for a day's work. 13For I have bent my bow over Judah and filled my bow over Ephraim, and I have set your children Zion against your children Greece, and made Jerusalem like the sword of a mighty man. 14The Master will be seen over the enemy and his arrow will go forth as the lightning and the Master of masters will sound on the trumpet, and will go in the whirlwind to the south. 15The Master of hosts will defend them; and they will devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they will drink trouble like wine; and they will be filled like a bowl, and as the corners of the altar. 16The Master their god will save them in that day as the flock of his people; for they were holy stones cast on his land. 17How good and how excellent is wheat for the young men, and wine makes the maids cheerful. Zechariah 9:14-17 (Zechariah 9:11-17 BRB)

Isaiah says Yahvah will diminish the rivers and the reeds will wither. This matches Yahvah giving rain to make the grass grow. Isaiah also says the princes of Zoan have become fools. This matches the learned men speaking iniquity.

1Ask the Master for rain in the season of latter rain and the Master will make gentle showers and give you the early rain which causes the grass to grow in the field. 2For the learned men have spoken iniquity and the diviners have seen a lie and have told false dreams. They comfort in vain, therefore the people went their way like sheep. They were humbled because they had no shepherd. Zechariah 10:1-2 (Zechariah 10:1-2 BRB)

Isaiah says the Egyptian will be like a woman. This matches Judah and Joseph becoming mighty men.

FE 3My anger is raging against the shepherds and I will punish the sheep, for the Master of hosts has visited his sheep, the house of Judah, and has made them as a splendid horse in the battle. 4Of them will come the cornerstone and of them the nail and of them the battle bow and of them all their rulers as 1. 5They will be like mighty men who tread mire in the streets in the battle. They will fight because the Master is with them and the riders on horses will be confounded. Zechariah 10:3-56I will strengthen the house of Judah and the house of Joseph I will save and I will bring them back again, for I will have mercy on them and they will be as though I had not forgotten them for I am the Master God and will answer them. 7They will become like the mighty men of Ephraim and their hearts will rejoice as with wine, yes, their sons will see it and be glad and their hearts will rejoice in the Master. Zechariah 10:6-12 (Zechariah 10:3-7 BRB)

Isaiah says there will be a highway between Egypt and Assyria. This matches Yahvah bringing his people back to their land from Egypt and Assyria.

8I will whistle for them and gather them, for I will save them and they will increase as they were before increased. 9I will scatter them among the peoples, yet they will praise me in far countries they will rear their sons and return again. 10I will bring them back from the land of Mizraim and gather them out of Assyria and I will bring them back to the land of Gilead and Lebanon and the lands will not be enough for them. 11They will pass through the sea of affliction and he will turn back the waves in the sea and all the depths of the river will dry up and the pride of Assyria will cease and the government of Mizraim will pass away. 12I will strengthen them in the Master and they will preach the good news of his name, says the Master. (Zechariah 10:8-12 BRB)
