Isaiah  Song of Songs

Isaiah chapter 31 and the Song of Songs.

^1.1Woe to those who go down to Mizraim for help ^1.2and trust in horses ^1.3and rely on chariots because they are many, ^1.4and in horsemen, because they are very strong; ^1.5but they do not trust in the holy one of Israel, ^1.6nor seek the Master. ^2.1Yet in his wisdom, he will bring a calamity, ^2.2and will not alter his words; ^2.3but will arise against the house of evildoers ^2.4and against the help of those who work iniquity. ^3.1The Mizraim are men and not God ^3.2and their horses are flesh and not spirit. ^3.3When the Master will stretch out his hand, ^3.4both the helper will be overthrown, ^3.5and he that is helped will fall down, ^3.6and they will all be annihilated together. Isaiah 31:1-3^4.1For thus said the Master to me: ^4.2As the lion, ^4.3even the young lion, ^4.4that roars over his prey ^4.5when a multitude of shepherds shout against him, ^4.6is not afraid of their voice ^4.7nor terrified by their multitude; ^4.8so will the Master of Hosts come down ^4.9to fight for the mount of Zion and for its hill. ^5.1As birds flying, ^5.2so will the Master of Hosts alight on Jerusalem; ^5.3he will alight to deliver, ^5.4rescue, and help. Isaiah 31:4-5⁶Repent, children of Israel, for you have made your punishment severe. ⁷For in that day, every man will despise the idols of gold and the idols of silver which your own hands have made for yourselves for a sin. Isaiah 31:6-7^8.1The Assyrian will fall with the sword, not with the sword of men; ^8.2the sword of mighty men will not devour him; ^8.3but he will flee from the sword ^8.4and his young men will be vanquished. ^9.1He will live in his rocky habitation, ^9.2and his princes will be defeated from before the standard, ^9.3says the Master, ^9.4whose fire is in Zion ^9.5and his furnace in Jerusalem.
