Isaiah Titus
Isaiah 64:4-12 covers the Paul's Preaching, and Appointment of Elders passages in the epistle of Titus.
4For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen, god, any besides you, because of what you do for those who wait for you. Q 1 Corinthians 2:9
5You meet with joy him who works righteousness, those who remember you in your ways; you are angry; for we have transgressed against your ways, yet we will be saved.
6For we have all become like an unclean thing, and all our righteousness is like filthy rags; we all fall off like leaves; and our iniquities, like the whirlwind, have taken us away.
7There is no one who calls on your name, that remembers to take hold of you; for you have turned away your face from us, and have delivered us into the power of our sins.
8But now, Master, you are our father; we are the clay, and you our potter; and we are all the work of your hand.
9Do not be very angry, Master, nor remember our sins forever; see, we are all your people.
10Your holy cities have become a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.
11Our holy and beautiful house, where our fathers praised you, is consumed with fire; and all our pleasant possessions are laid waste.
12Because of these things you have restrained yourself, Master, and held your peace, and afflicted us very severely. Isaiah 64:8-12 (Isaiah 64:4-12 BRB)
Isaiah says since the beginning of the world men have
not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen,
god, any besides you.
This aligns with a similar reference
at the beginning of Titus where Paul talks about things promised
ages ago were brought to light by his preaching
(Titus 1:1-3).
Isaiah says Your holy cities have become a wilderness.
This likely aligns with the way Titus was instructed to appoint
elders "city by city"
(Titus 1:5).
