Isaiah Judges

Isaiah chapter 7 covers the Samson's Birth, Samson's Diet, Samson's Honey, Samson's Haircut, Micah's Silver, and Armed Danites stories in the book of Judges.

FE 1It came to pass in the days of Ahaz, son of Jotham, son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin, king of Aram, and Pekah, son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it. Isaiah 7:12It was told the house of David, saying, Aram is confederate with Ephraim, and his heart and the heart of his people were moved as the trees of the forest are moved with the wind. Isaiah 7:23The Master said to Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, you and Shear Jashub your son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool which is in the highway of the field of the fortress. 4Say to him, Listen and be quiet. Do not fear nor be frightened by these 2 weakening trouble-makers, by the fierce anger of Rezin and by the son of Remaliah, 5because Aram and Ephraim and the son of Remaliah have taken evil counsel against you, saying, 6Let us go up against Judah and destroy it and let us make a breach in it and set a king in the middle of it, even the son of Tabeel. 7Thus says the Master God: It will not stand nor will it come to pass. 8For the head of Aram is Damascus and the head of Damascus is Rezin and after 65 years Ephraim will be broken so that it will no longer be a people. 9The head of Ephraim is Samaria and the head of Samaria is the son of Remaliah. If you do not believe also you will not understand. Isaiah 7:3-910Again the Master spoke to Ahaz, saying, 11Ask for yourself a sign of the Master your god. Ask something in the depth or in the height above. Isaiah 7:10-1112But Ahaz said, I will not ask nor will I tempt the Master my god. Isaiah 7:1213He said, Hear now house of David, it is a small thing for you to weary men, but will you also weary my god? 14Therefore the Master himself will give a sign to you. A virgin will conceive and bear a son and will call his name, Immanuel. Q Matthew 1:23 I Judges 13:3 15Butter and honey he will eat that he may know how to refuse the evil and choose the good. I Judges 14:9 16For before the child will know to refuse the evil and choose the good the land before whose 2 kings you are harassed will be forsaken. 17The Master will bring on you and on your people and on the house of your father days that have not come from the day when the king of Assyria parted Ephraim from Judah. H 2 Kings 18:11-12 Isaiah 7:13-1718It will come to pass in that day that the Master will whistle for the flies that are in the uttermost part of the rivers of Mizraim and for the bees that are in the land of Assyria. 19They will come and will rest all of them in the valley of Jathoth and in the holes of the rocks and in all the dens. 20In that day the Master will shave with a sharp razor the region that is beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the feet, and he will also shave off the beard. I Judges 16:19 21It will come to pass in that day that a man will rear a young cow and 2 sheep, 22and it will come to pass, because of the abundance of milk that they will give, he will eat butter, for butter and honey everyone will eat who is left in the land. 23It will come to pass in that day that every place where there were 1,000 vines, worth 1,000 silver pieces, will become briers and thorns. I Judges 17:2 24With arrows and with bows men will come there, because all the land will be filled with briers and thorns. I Judges 18:11 25On all the hills that once were plowed with a plow you will not go for fear of briers and thorns, but it will become pasture for cattle and for the treading of sheep. Isaiah 7:18-25 (Isaiah 7 BRB)

Isaiah says a virgin will conceive and bear a son. This aligns with the wife of Manoah conceiving Samson (Judg 13:2-7).

Isaiah says Butter and honey he will eat, that he may know how to refuse the evil and choose the good. This aligns with the Nazarite diet prescribed for Samson (Judg 13:2-7).

Isaiah says Yahvah will whistle for the flies that are in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt and for the bees that are in the land of Assyria. The reference to bees aligns with the bees that made honey in the carcass of the lion that Samson slew (Judg 14:5-9).

Isaiah says master will shave with a sharp razor the region that is beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the feet; and he will also shave off the beard. This aligns with Delilah shaving Samson's hair (Judg 16:16-19).

Isaiah says every place where there were 1,000 vines, worth 1,000 silver pieces, will become briers and thorns. This aligns with Micah's 1100 pieces of silver (Judg 17:1-2).

Isaiah says With arrows and with bows men will come there. This aligns with the armed Danites who came to Micah's home (Judg 18:11-13).
